About Us
We are Democrats and we own guns.
We own guns. We just don’t feel the need to wave them around to emphasize our points. We own them in the hope we will never have to use them on another human being, but accept it as a LAST resort after all other options have been exhausted and we or loved ones are in danger, faced with an immediate and deadly threat. All the while making sure we accept and respect the immense responsibility owning a firearm entails.
We believe...
- We believe in the 2nd amendment.
- We believe criminals and psychologically impaired should not have weapons.
- We believe in thorough background checks and psychological evaluations prior to purchase.
- We believe in our right to defend ourselves and families in the face of imminent danger.
- We believe and hope that we’ll never have to use them against another human being.
- We believe guns are a necessary tool, not a source of politicization or bravado.
- We believe guns should never be banned, confiscated, mandatory buy-backed, or their purchase prevented to good American citizens who have passed background and psychological checks.
We do not believe...
- We do not believe in “assault weapons ban” legislation since Class III assault weapons are already regulated.
- We do not believe in legislation that attempts to regulate semi-automatic weapon cosmetics or ammunition capacity.
- We do not believe in NFA tax stamp increases that further divide poor and wealthy qualified Americans from owning firearms.
Our Cause
We extend a hand of education and support for widespread access to guns for all Americans in a safe manner. Join our cause fellow Democrats!
We are not "pro-gun" or "pro-gun control"
Pro-gun is a word that evokes thoughts of a gun free for all. Pro-gun control evokes thoughts of taking away firearms. We are not about these kinds of labels. We want sensible control of firearms while still allowing those that need them to purchase them.
Guns should not be politicized
We don’t rally around firearms. They are a tool and not the most important thing in the world right now. We support our fellow Democrats on the real issues.
Firearms education
All of us growing up saw guns stylized in movies. The real world is not like this. Guns don’t work the way they are portrayed by Hollywood. Education of different types of firearms and why they should be considered tools for various purposes is important to us.
